Volunteer Spotlight: Gina

Gina has been volunteering with our Denver branch since January 2025, bringing compassion, connection, and kindness to those she serves.

Through her time with Canyon, Gina has found deep meaning in simply being present—listening, sharing stories, and making sure others feel seen and valued. Inspired by caring for her own family, she felt called to hospice volunteering to ensure no one feels alone during life’s most vulnerable moments.

“One of the most valuable things I’ve learned is how to truly listen… to slow down, be present, and meet someone where they are.”

Her advice for others? Just start. Show up with kindness—you might be surprised by how much you receive in return.

Fun fact: Gina is related to the world’s heaviest man—definitely a conversation starter!
